John Tribbia

John Tribbia

What are some of your lifetime running goals?:

(1) Compete in international mountain running races (2) Qualify for US Mountain Running Team (3) Be consistent in training and racing so that I improve on something each day, week, month, and year

Do you have a claim to fame?:

Many...here's one: I once knew a guy who had a friend that was the veterinarian for the dog of the late John Candy's landscaper.

Do you have any vices?:

coffee and honey nut cheerios, but not in the same bowl...actually, i drink coffee out of a mug, not a bowl.

What makes you tick as a runner and in the real world?:

A couple things: (1) I enjoy setting a goal and preparing myself to best achieve it (2) I strive to put my best foot forward in everything I do - from giving my best in training/racing through consistent hard work, to working hard in school, to giving myself to friends, family, and others in need.

What drives you to run?:

Improvement and Introspection

What is your favorite movie?:

Step Brothers and Shawshank Redemption

Do you have any nicknames? Explain:

Johnny. I've been "Johnny" since the day I was born.

What's the longest you've gone without sleep? Why?:

38 hours (with a lay-down break for 1 hour). It was for the 2009 Hood to Coast Relay. Awesome experience of running 200 miles with 11 teammates. We finished in under 22 hours.

If you had to be named after one of the 50 states,
which would it be?:

I wanted to be renamed "Jack" because I have a cool uncle named Jack. So I would modify that with "Colorado Jack" just because it sounds cool.

John Tribbia

What did you have for lunch yesterday?:

Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

If you could hook up a thought monitor to your head,
would you see pictures, hear words or would music be
playing?:

words

What really scares you about trail running?:

skunks in the nighttime

If your life was made into a movie, what would it be called?:

"Colorado Jack"

Where would you live if it could be anywhere in the world?:

New Zealand looks nice, but I've never been there.

What's your worst encounter on the trail?:

None really. I'd rather have a bad encounter on the trail than running into a car on the streets.
